“ This place has been on my list for quite some time. After 8 hours of pickle we decided to give this a try. This place is cash only and no frills. There was a short line and it moved quick. Soup dumplings 4 out of 5. Small but delicious and generous pieces 9 for $9.50 Beef brisket Hui Mei. The brisket was tasty and hand pull noodles were made to perfection. The hot sauce condiment made it even better. 4/5 Big Tray chicken. This is their signature and it was good. 4/5 ”
“ Great food. BYOB. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommend the spicy chicken and the spicy pork dumplings. ”
“ I came here with my friend for dinner on a Monday night. It's a pretty small restaurant, but we got there around 6pm so we didn't have to wait for a table. We shared the cucumbers, pork soup dumplings, and spicy lamb hui mei. The soup dumplings were especially good. Our total for everything was about $30 (as of Sept '24). It's cash-only, but there's an ATM nearby. ”
“ Love this place! No-frills, fast service, small inside. The dumplings with scallion sauce are a must-try. The sauce is so flavorful, and the texture is perfect. I also really love the vegetarian chicken hui mei. The noodles are fresh and filling. Great prices and big portions. Cash only. ”
“ Cash only, super delicious spot for comforting noodles in Chinatown. Came on a Saturday evening with my partner, and there was a decent wait to get seated (about 25-30 minutes given limited seating inside and was a tad too chilly for us to sit outside). We were able to order while waiting in line, though, so we got our food almost immediately upon sitting down. We ordered the lamb hui mian which was delicious and extremely good value (a huge bowl for $11.50?! so unheard of). It was so comforting, and the soup was flavorful without being overwhelming. I was surprised by how well the flavors stuck to the noodles. We also got the big plate chicken with noodles ($24) and seaweed salad. I've had big plate chicken often, as well as homemade, so I was less star-struck by this dish, but it is a very impressive quality and quantity for NYC. In sum total, it was a ton of food and we were both stuffed. We probably could have just shared the big plate chicken and got extra noodles and been totally satiated for the evening, but we wanted to try more things on the menu! Ambience is definitely a bit thin, and this is a hole-in-wall kind of spot. Service was great and friendly, just don't forget it's cash only. ”
